A new Yandex Pro home: from concept to rollout
Redesigned the home screen around each courier’s current state and tasks: the map opens on demand, while key services and personal data are visible at a glance.
Context
The map occupied most of the screen despite being rarely needed off shift. Important sections were hidden in a drawer, the home did not adapt to courier status, and active orders made other features harder to reach.
Full rollout on 9 June · +2.52 hours (+11.36%) for first-week couriers
My role
I shaped the concept and product principles, took the direction through UX and quantitative validation, led detailed state design with another designer, and supported the experiment through full rollout.
What I did
I removed the persistent map and added personal stats, onboarding and mentoring for newcomers, a dedicated candidate journey, vehicle rental, and referrals. After a pilot with top couriers, we fixed critical issues and ran a courier-level experiment.
Outcome
After a pilot and courier-level experiment, the new home rolled out to everyone on 9 June. In Moscow, active shift time among first-week couriers rose by 2.52 hours (+11.36%). In the broader newcomer hours-worked subgroup, Test reached 34.2 hours versus 30.1 in Control (+13.7%).
